Coming down all the way from Christchurch, New Zealand, Paul visited Germany for the first time in June 2009 for the Zippo International Lighter Convention of "Zippo Flamme Deutschland" that was held in Randersacker near Würzburg and brought this lighter, especially designed for that event.
"Z.F.D - Zippo Flamme Deutschland"  - a harvest bronze finish piece of art that was auctioned off for a charity of  Z.F.D.'s choosing - the Wurzburg Child Cancer Hospital. At the end of the auction ZFD announced (shocking everyone) they were adding a matching amount - truly capturing the spirit of the weekend - hats off to their generosity.
A massive thanks to all those who helped make the visit such fun.
Particular thanks to Alex & Anja for the invite & chauffeuring, Willi for his irrepressible enthusiasm & hard work in presenting such a well organised show, & Andy & Petra for their hospitality & the warm jumper - it was well used!

Paul's artwork is amazing and what he is able to create on a Zippo surface is absolutely stunning. No photo can show what you can see with your own eyes holding one of his pieces of artwork in your hands.

Truly one-of-a-kind... and maybe this is the best way to describe Paul himself too. Knowing eachother from lots and lots of emails and phone calls since somewhere back in 2004 we finally got the chance to meet in person that weekend in June 2009. This guy has a motto "In all things be passionate" which reflects not only in this work but in his way of life.

Being our guest for two days full of fun and talking for hours right after the show was a real pleasure. When he left he placed in one of our Zippo displays what comes next, a gift for our collection, whithout telling us...
